Title: 1997 Catera Will Not Start
Post by: bbacon on 17 November 2008, 04:30:17
Was on the motor way and the beast just quit has not started since.  Had it towed back to my shop and have replaced the crank sensor.  Still just rolls over but no fire.  I had the engine light on and went by the local parts house and received two codes which my ill daughter took out my notes with a bought of stomach flu - film at eleven yuck.  The code was for a petrol line blockage but as above i no longer have the number.  Tried the paper clip test but the Yank version seems to have a different set up on the fuse box so I may need a little guidance as to how to rig the clip in the tester block.
As i said as long as the battery will hold out she cranks away but will not fire.  I replaced the fuel filter as well chasing the possible block in the system.  Seems more like a failing fuel tank.   I am not looking forward to removing the tank as I just filled it 20 min before she failed to run.  Am trying to track down a code reader but Yanks who drive Cadillac's do not work on cars add your favorite expletive lol.  ;D
Thank you in advance for your input. ; ;)
