Hello again guys, still no joy with this bleedin starter! can any of you chaps advise as to cost of a recon - and is it do-able on the driveway?
-
yep easily doabkle in the driveway mate long as you have a large jack, top bolt is a bit awkward but i found by superglueing the nut to the starter motor ::) was able to doi it easily without removeing the inlet manifold!! :y dont warry the super glue does let go when you tighten the nut up!!!lol

I remove intake, though Omegatoy would do from underneath.
If you are near me, I have a spare TD starter motor in garage.

cheers for the offer TheBoy but i`m up in snowy Middlesbrough - managed to source a motor from scrappy for 50 squid, took all the plastics and nuts off the inlets (the back ones are a bar-steward to reach)about to remove when the sky turned black and hail began to fall, should get done tomorrow. is there anything i should watch for when replacing the new one??

No, only the wiring can be fiddly to get the nuts back on.
