Ok got a 3.0 engine here from a non running Omega...
Now it wouldnt crank at all, however I removed the aux belt and now it will, so guessing one of the aux bits has seized...
However it will only turn about 270 degrees from about 12 o clock position round to about 9 o clock position...bent valve or something do you think or something less sinister?? And with it rotating 270 degrees do you reckon 1 head or 2 have problems if its that??

probly aircon pump siezed ! if it only turns that ampunt i would take front cover off and check cam timing ! :y
-
Yeah my thought was aircon pump :)
Front cover is off but tbh I dont know how to check the timing or how to adjust it :( I know its on the DVD which I have now found and watched...but still not a clue as the engine has no cams on and no belt
-
Sound like the cambelt has slipped, but to be sure take the camcover off as Markey says above.

Could seized aircon pump cause the slipped belt?

are you on about that one infront of your house chris?
if you are then to everybody else, it has no camshafts in at all...
sooo would you be sure chris that there isnt just shite built up in the cylinder bores? like rusty looking stains? if your just turning the crank then it should just spin round and round as there wont be any valves banging-also you can take spark plugs out so theres no compression (makes it easier)
-
Yes that one...no spark plugs in it...no cam shafts
-
it should go round fine, it might have started to sieze though.
would be worth having the heads off to inspect really(can see what the bores are like then)
