Title: Softstar 16in to Ronal 17in
Post by: amba on 27 November 2008, 17:23:33
Would there be any noticeable effect on driving and ride with a straight change from 16inch to 17inch ?

It depends on the profile, i.e. with a 16" you are probably running on 55% profile, with a 17" to keep the speedo in check you'll have to drop the profile.  Bearing in mind the walls will be less deep, therefore harder ride, but, less wall roll so, better handling....

....what he says :P
i'm running mine on the irmscher 17's and from the 15's it tightens the ride up alot!
can hammer it in/out of/round corners compared to the 15's
bit of width difference mind...205-235

Thanks for info guys.Tyres are all standard profile as per manufacture..its just that I bought a set of 4 mint Irmscher Ronal wheels and new tyres in the summer and have been waiting for the old pirelli p6000,s to wear out so the swop could be made.
Pirellis have now done over 28,000 miles since last december so will be swopped in next few days, just wanted opinions on what I might expect to find in ride/handling.
