Title: Rear head restraints
Post by: ChrisB on 28 November 2008, 09:43:27
Hi

I have an Omega 2.5TD elite estate.   The catches that hold the rear head restraints in the upright (i.e. for passenger use) position have broken, so both head restraints now fall forwards all the time into the 'seat folding' position..... Has anyone any ideas on how this can be repaired?

Many thanks!

Hi

It's a locking mechanism in the top of seat - with a push button release to tip the head restraint forwards for folding the seat down.  Unfortunately it seems that its made of plastic inside and a plastic catch that hold the seat seems to be broken.  Haven't dismantled them as I can tie the head restraints back as a temporary measure, but it isn't good long term.

I could try and post some pictures if it would help.....

Thanks for the info so far!

Chris

  Hi Chris,
Try to see if the mechanism comes out as a whole to replace or if not try getting some seat backs from a scrappy or from someone like markey mark/MutantCav in the buy/sell section :y.
