from my point ov view it did there was a massive difference in more power through the rev range andmore torque  but itmight just be me i love me mv6  2nd one i own last one was expolice and thatwas chipped  but i did not feel it made a difference on performance on that particular car

Ok I've have the 2.5 and it's a little lacking low down with a hole about just after 2k that goes on till about 3k then it starts to fly.  Looking for something to fill this and give it more grunt not after high power just improve driveability.

Am considering replacing filter with K&N standard replacement (they work well in bikes) and a chip.

to be honest the filter may do the trick for u  but get a good one with the cold air induction  it improve my mv6 considerably in the lower rev range especailly fromstandin start

k&n kit will probably make things worse. The standard multiram setup is not easy to improve upon.if you want more power from a 2.5 stick 3 litre cams in. :y

Do all the 3 litres have just 2 x G cams and 2 x A cams or is it 4 x G's? I know 2 x G's on the inlet of the V6 Vec gives in the region of 15 to 20 brake.

Sell it and buy a more powerfull car is the cheapest and only definate way of getting considerably more power, unless you want to spend thousands sticking a turbo charger on it and end up melting the engine for very little increase

Agreed; buy a Monaro VXR or a VXR8. It will actually be a better power / £ ratio than upgrading your Omega and it will last longer.

You need to change all 4 cams on the X25XE. There's a guide on here somewhere but I can't put my finger on it. All 4 cams on the X25XE are  milder than the X30XE ones.

i'v got the print out :P lol
urm it's g's and a's in the x30 and e's and f's or c's (not sure about that) in the x25 but the c25 has different cams on the gsi two g's and two e/f's

Hmm, that means the 2.5 omega runs different cams to the 2.5 vec. Wonder what the difference is between them. What is the standard output for a 2.5 omega, do you know?
Title: Re: morebhp

167 bhp iirc.

the 2.5 omega is 167bhp (so about 185bhp with all 4 3.0 cams in)
the 3.0 is 207bhp
2.6 is 178/9bhp
3.2 is 213bhp and also 217bhp(dont ask)

Yep, that's it. X25XE has different cams to C25XE which shares one set with the X30XE.

X25XE is 167BHP IIRC.

The 2.5 is exactly the same as the vec then. However, the vec GSi had the 3 litre Omega cams fitted and produces 190BHP or just over. Can't remember what else the vec GSi had but I know the biggest difference was the G cams.
What FPR does the Omega use, I know when I fitted a 4 bar it gave better response at wide throttle openings, never got the remap to take more advantage of it though

FPR is 3 BAR and there's plenty of injector flow so no need to up the fuel pressure IMHO.

i dont know, the vectras got a different intake system to the omega.
i put 185 because i dont want to get ahead of myself see and be too optamistic lol!

you take it upto about 200bhp with the 3.0 cams 4bar fpr and remap

Dont take that as gospel, may be me getting it wrong again. Thought it was A's and E or F's in vec but would have to check. The 167BHP you gave seems a bit too similar for the cams to be different.
