hi all newby on here can any one help iv got w reg 2.0 omega petrol/lpg had problems with stalling looked on here and look liked crank sensor replaced it yesterday boy what a pig :ie aircon/power steering pump/braket never again 100% beter now on morning starts perfect do 1 mile then rev counter bouncers then cuts out turn key off then restarts brill and ot rest off day also on tick over some times idles up and down between 800 to 1500 rpm then some times cuts out but starts fine anyone got any ideas please :y :y :y :y :y

Hi mate and welcome. Would be alot beter if you update your profile as well. Anyway back to the problem, does she cut out when you lift your foot off the throttle when coming to a junction or roundabout? If so this will be down to the IACV. You can take this off and clean it using carb cleaner plus you will need to also do your breather pipes as well this does help it.

:-[ :-[hi thanks for reply when a got the car few weeks ago it was cuting out all the time then would start ok but got worse now fitted new crank sensor it lot beter now starts brill drive about 1 mile abour 30mph the engine cuts in and out eratic and the rev counter bounces up and down then cuts out totally turn key off and restarts fine and ok all day it dose this on gas or petrol has to be electrical car drives fine abit slugish puling away but think thats down to 2.0l in bigish car :y :y :y

on top of the engine on two litres and 2.2s i think also, there is a big oil breather pipe that comes out the top of the rocker cover, check this isnt soggy and squidgy, it should be firm and round not collapsing in on itself, genuine gm part for unter a fiver fixed a similar sounding problem on my T reg 2 litre i had about 3 or 4 years back, well worth checking as its a cheap fix and common too.
