afternoon all,
have recently purchased a 95 omega elite 3.0 which i am very pleased with so far. couple of things need to be sorted which i kinda expected, first one being the temp gauge rarely rises above 90,which in turn leads to a lack of cabin heating,am hoping is easy and cheap to recify (dont we all)
would appreciate some asst.

Must admit today mate mine took around 15 mins before it got to 95 degrees but it is bloody cold.. could this be the problem with yours?

I believe that the engine temparature rarely rising above 90 (which for me is normal operating temp.) has much to do with your cabin heating. ::)
The HBV (Heater Bypass Valve) may be faulty, or you have an airlock in the system, are just two things I can think of sitting here.
I am sure others will also give additional advice, :y :y

Another thing I have thought of is, when you turn your ignition off, does -- appear in the c/c temp. windows that you have on your Elite? ::)

IIRC the facelift Omega's run a bit cooler than the older ones. I would say your thermostat has given up the ghost :(

90 degrees is pretty normal running temp for a 3.0

Lizzie..what is the relivance of -- -- appearing in the climate display dials when the ignition is turned off ??the reason I ask is mine has been doing that now for several weeks although the temperature and heater seem to be working as normal, although these last few days gauge has been a bit lazy to start moving.
If I remember the fan motors stopped for no reason a while back but was cure by the old auto/off buttons at same time to reset.

--- means that there is a fault with your climate control that needs investigation. ;) Have you given your a/c a run at "LO" recently? Worth trying on a day when the outside temp is over 5 degrees C to see what happens. ;)
Indeed the a/c should be run on "LO" at least once a month even during the winter. :y

any idea what that might be ?...or is it a trip to the local sharks for them to say "computer says no " and here is the bill for ££££,s sir.

Could be low on gas, the system may have a leak, or in the worst case the compressor is packing up/has packed up! :'( But don't panic try the a/c first as I suggested, if not cold, go to an indepentant air con specialist to investigate. ;)
That's my advise, and I have had low gas and a seized compressor in my time with miggies! :D ;)

Lizzie..Thanks for info re using climate on LO when temp outside allows. My aircon man did a full service of system in May this year and fitted a new compressor under warranty from original replaced last year as bearings were really noisy..he refilled and did full leak test so think could well be just not ran cold for a few weeks ..hope so.?
