Sounds like a vac leak.....at idle you ahev mega vac in the inlet, add throttle and the vac falls away.

The whole setup is vac operated so check the small vac pipes in the engine bay to satrt with.

Check the blower motor fuse, vac pipes to/from hbv and bulk head for the vent motors. Ac may have run out of gas with a leak. If the 4 knob pulley bottom right on the aux belt is not turning when ac is on and eco off then either no gas( use a specialist) or dodgy electrical connection to pump. If its turning and  no cold air in car then probably fan motor connection or fuse. No personal experience of these so get some other opinions.

May be worth a trip to Alton to see Kevin Wood with tech 2. Be quick though he only has it until the new year.

Sounds like you could have several problems here matey that could be either very simple to sort on nthe other hand a right pain ::)

There could be a few reasons why your heater isn't getting hot as you put it.

1.  If the fans not blowing as you say it could just be the fan isn't working not that the heater matrix isn't getting hot?

Check whether the matrix is getting hot, check the fuse for the fan and check the heater bypass valve.

2. Air con could just be that the gas has lost pressure the system has a pressure switch that shuts the system down when it drops below a certain pressure to stop damage.  It my just need gassing which is more than likely as the system is one of the better ones out there or something else has failed?

3. Don’t think these sort of problems will be picked up by the engine management system it should (I would have thought) pick up that the thermostat or temp sensor/s wasn't working as these are needed to correctly fuel the engine.  But you may need a Tech reader or do a pedal/paperclip test.

4. 97 - 100* I would say is on the high side and could well point to a failing thermostat, temp sensor, cooling fan or other cooling system component?

5. If the system works of sorts when the car's idling or in traffic could point to HBV, thermostat, any of the above mentioned or trapped air possibly?

Lets get a few answers in place.

1) Can you hear the cabin fan blowing (turn it up full?).

2) Do you ever get heat?

3) If you change the setting for the air direction (screen/feet/face) do you hear the actuators moving and the air direction changes?

1.... yes can hear it blowing...

2.. only wen stopped in traffic the engine temp goes up and it starts blowing with heat..

3... yes they all move fine ?

Right....in which case you most likely have a vac pipe leaking....

What you will find is a set of small plastic pipes running around the back of the engine bay.....some of these are related to gettinga v ac feed into the cabin to operate the controls.

The easiest way to find them is to look at the rear left of the engine bay where the heater pipes pass though the bulk head.....by these will be some pipes.

the left hand pips shoudl run over the rear of the engine bay to a vac reserviour above the pollen filter with the othe feed passing from the vac reservoir to a connection on the brake servo vac pipe.

Check these first adn look along the length of the pipe for chaffing etc.

That pipe is the auto box breather and shouldn't be connected to anything.

Does it still warm up as quickly as it used to? Just thinking it could be a Thermostat but seems to get hotter than I'd expect for a failed stat :-? :-?
