Hi all,
Well I have replace the radiator, the water pump and the bypass valve at the rear of the engine but the heater still blows cold.
Engine gets up to temperature fine. I have tried the reset thing by holding down auto and off for 6 seconds but still no difference.
This is a 2l cdx btw.
Any other things I can check? I have heard of s vacum pipe somewhere. Anybody know where I can find it and check to see if it is attached/working?
Cheers,
Rob :-?

hi Rob, dont know myself. On the v6 i beleive the vac pipe on top of the hbv operates the heater vents. Maybe a more experienced member will know for sure.
Bump.

Have you given the heater matrix a blast through with a hosepipe?

I think if you have aircon, there's going to be two vac pipes going through the firewall beside the actual coolant pipes. One comes from the throttle body via a vac reservoir and is the main vac supply to control all the stuff inside.
Then there'll be one going back out to the HBV to 'tell it' when to send hot coolant to the matrix, and when not to bother.
Both will probably have a 'link-piece' just inside the cabin, joining the engine bay pipes to the cabin pipes, so have a poke around in the driver's footwell and check that these haven't become 'unlinked'.
HTH :)

my mate had the same problem, back flushed the heater matrix an now it burns your face off,lol

You need to take this a step at a time.
1) Are the engine bay vac pipes ok, connected correctly, undamaged.
2) Are the heater matrix pipes to the bulk head getting hot

Nice set of things to check here guys. Thanks!!
I will start with the easy one and see if the matrix pipes are getting warm!!
Although most other things have been done I have not done anything with the matrix. i.e. no back flushing etc.
Will let you know what I find out.
Thanks for the pointers people.
