As you may have read I've replaced plugs, coil pack, sealing rings in plenum, new MAF and cleaned and lightly oiled the ICV to sort out juddering under heavy throttle. All vac tubes are fine. Multi ram is working ok too.
All is fantastic at any throttle postion when before thermostat opens
As soon as engine gets to regular running temp any hard/sudden foot to the floor accleration causes a slight loss of power.
Put pedal to floor a bit slower and no problems.
What sensor or signal changes between cold engine and warmed up engine.
Wondering if fuel rail pressure reg is playing up....not restricitng the return flow quick enough when you throttle hard? ? ?
The car is drivable and very smooth but slight lack of performance if you want to hoof it a bit.
Drive it easy/normal and all is good.
I cant bring myself to spend any more money on a new ICV or Lamdas etc
Open to offers around the £500 to take the car as is as and when my solicitors get my payout through.

maf sensor(hotwire)
and lambdas dont come in till engines is warmed up??

Well out of that lot it leaves the lambdas....
I did give a bloody big dose of carb cleaner into the plenum when the engine was running a few weeks ago. I've since read that carb cleaner will knacker a lambda sensor? ? ?

How long does it take for ECU to re-learn a new MAF?
Only done 20 miles on it

If the previous MAF was faulty it will run grumpy until the fuel trims sort themselves out. You can reset the trim usign a Tech 2 or, in some cases, just by clearing the fault codes with any code reader.
See how it goes, I guess...

Have you changed or checked the coolant temperature sensor? Don't forget the ECU uses a different sensor from the gauge.
If the CTS is not sending the correct signal to the ECU, it will think the engine is cold and overfuel.
It's also possible the connector to the CTS could be displaced if you have been working in that area. Not sure if that would throw up an error code.

The CTS...that on the 'bridge'....viewable when the plenum is off?
If that is it then that's fine.
Havent disconnected the battery yet and left it for a few hours.

Thought i had updated this thread re poor running?
Anyways after a mobile diagnostic check giving every sensor the all clear left just the HT leads.
£50-ish later, and minus some skin from my knuckles, new set of leads and another set of Bosch plugs the Tank is driving brilliantly.
Shame it has to go...wonder if I can get away with garaging it until my little boy is old enough to drive??
