Make sure that you check the offset though. Standard Elite 17" wheels had an offest of ET38, the Vectra-C SRi wheels fitted below, as they come from a FWD car, have ET45.
The car pictured below has Eibach-pro spacers 25mm on each rear corner and 18mm at each front corner. Net effect is that the wheels are 11mm further out at each front corner and 18mm at each rear corner.
This is a deliberate move as I think that they fill the arches better.

Nice looking motor there Albatross, not overstated at all. Do you get any problems with those tints though, they look quite dark in the pics?

Nope, they look a lot darker in the pics than they actually are. TB and Mr & Mrs Kevin Wood have seen them 1st hand. I'm not really into limo tints and wanted the front and rear windows to match. If you're near the car you can see in, it is at a level where it just makes it a difficult to make out the features of who is in there unless you stare that's all. It is very difficult to see when the rear blind is up or down from the outside of the car though.
I have a few mates in the police, and whilst they're technically "not allowed", they have all independently said that they wouldn't bother me about them. Some police forces are more anal stringent than others, but I have been all over the country and driven past many police cars parked at the side of the road "watching" as it were and have never had a peep.
As for being in the car, you can hardly tell except that it stays a lot cooler in the summer.

I won this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300277338415&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=020 right at the last min as i need some new tyres for my omega i asked the seller if they would fit etc before it ended and i got an email from him after i won the item saying where he lives and to pay cash on pick up.If they are not right for the car will i still have to buy them

What size and rating are they other than 16's eg 195/205/225 60/65 V/H/T etc if he said in his email they would and they don’t then it's a miss sold item.
Your supposed to pay for what you bid for but in reality it don't matter the worst that will happen is bad feed back Flea Bay don’t really care either way and from what I've seen you have to be a right crook before they do anything.
Personally I'd see stuff like this first.

That link shows steel rims not alloys?
So long as the tyres are the correct rating you can get them put on your rims and junk the steel rims anyway. If they were off a 2.5 Vec the tyres should be okay cos they have the same top speed as the Omega. I know a lot of the Vec lads fit Omega wheels on their vecs.

Completely agreed. swap the tyres over onto your existing wheels.

ET is the offest measured in mm and also called "ET". You can find he ET rating (offset in mm) written on the inside of most alloys.
The ‘Offset’ of a wheel measures the distance between the wheel centreline and the wheel mounting face and is measured in millimetres. It is extremely important that wheels of the correct offset are used in order to maintain the correct track of the vehicles.
Offset can be Positive or Negative and is best illustrated in the two diagrams on the left. Most Modern vehicles are front-wheel drive, and as such generally require positive offset wheels. The main exception to this rule is 4x4 vehicles, which often use negative offset wheels.
