Title: Cat exhaust 2.0 16v

My mate has just got a omega 2.0 16v cheap as the mot is nearly out and the cat has gone/going on it.For its mot does it need a cat or can he cut the cat out and put a peice of piping there

its going to need a cat on for the mot or they will not even look at the car
(unless u know a garage that will look away)

it will most likely be just the flexi that will need replacing as the cats are pretty tough, I was told tho that they can be a bugger to weld if they are blowing costhey are not made of the same metal as the restof the exhaust, hence why they last alot longer.

your best betis maybe a breakers for this, as a genuine new one could set you back more than what the car cost.
