Any ideas where to start looking? Not always present

er, lever the black plastic ball joint of the self level sensor arm and see if the back goes up and down,(located rear of dif by fuel filter) when you move the lever up the car should rise to a rather silly hight. And when you lower the arm you should hear the air release from the pump, right front wing.
I guess thats what it means. Might be worth checking you have self level shocks first, you can see the connector on the shock above the rear wheel. They are 150 a pair so the stock ones get fitted to save cash. Hth

it def has self level fitted, must admit haven't noticed pump cutting in and out. have to have a look tomorrow.

could be same trouble i had john a split pipe to the shock absorber

Air leak, causing the suspension to lower quicker than expected I believe.
