Title: Reading Alarm Codes

Hello Can any one please point me in the right place  in East Anglia to have the Alarm codes read because wait for it my two local Vauxhall garages ie Talyors of Spalding and Thulow Nunn of Kings lynn and Wisbech say that a 1996 2.5 td cdx estate is to old for their workshop computers to read they say i need something called Tech1  Help please

Are the remote locking fobs RF or IR.

If they are RF, tell them not to be a bunch of gay tossers, and plug the Tech2 in.  If they are IR, they are correct, Tech1/1a required.

I should add, if its RF, and as they are obviously stupid, switch tech2 on and:

Diagnostics > 1997 > Omega > Body > Anti Theft Warning System > OK (to ign on prompt) > Confirm (to ecu details) > f0 - Diagnostic Trouble Codes > f2 - Read Alarm Codes (may have to under carpass number at this point)

Yep !  You have got it right the fobs are IR Sorry should have put this in the frist post  
  So does any one know where the nearest garage with a Tech 1 to me is ? i dont mind going some distance to get it sorted
