anyone know the normal running temp for 2.5 v6 on facelift
-
They should sit at midpoint, or just under on the guage
so 92-95ish
-
Temp gauge should be just below mid point under normal load and only creap up when in traffic or working hard then fans will pull it back to mid point..never above 97.5.
-
mine was sitting bang on 80 degrees in the recent cold snap. And a maybe 85 degrees is more normal on mine. Thing is, as i understand it, the gauge, from what i have read is not always calibrated exactly the same from car to car. But so long ar the average is somewhere near the middle of the gauge i would not worry too much.(average taking into account winter and summer)
-
mine too runs at just over 85 fans kick in smack on 90 and bring it down to 85
-
hi #
well mine is the same too starts from 80 goes to 90 then back to 85 is that normal?
-
Later cars had the temperature gauge calibrated differently. Regardless of the numbers, just below the middle of the gauge is typical, rising to just above the middle of the gauge in traffic or arduous conditions, whereby the fans should bring the temperature under control.

thanks for that folks
-
Both our 2.5 V6s run at 95ºC - up to 98ºC in traffic when fans kick in & bring back down to 95ºC.
Cold weather running around 92ºC
Hope that helps.

iirc Facelifts and prefacelifts have different temperatures written on the guage......
However, the needle should be just below midpoint on both.

Yup. Facelift shows as 80 and the prefacelift shows as 90. Midpoint or below for the needle, rising in traffic sometimes, drawn back down by the fans kicking in.
