Hi, recently been having problems when accelerating heavily beyond 3000rpm. Car starts missing badly like a rev limiter is kicking in.
Read fault codes & 19 crank sensor has flashed up....

 First question.
1)Was there only one type fitted to the 30xe?
 2) Is it worth fitting an aftermarket one or genuine? I have a feeling a GM one will be about £150 at least compared to £35 for an aftermarket part.
 Thank you.

The TC book only shows one 90540743 at 36.71 +vat TC price, so I would go with original :y

-
Thank you Ian. I am in shock about the price btw  :y

I am pretty sure there is two types, the difference is the connector iirc... Mine from Vauxhall was £50 or as near to dam it. So your £150 guess is quiet a way off mate. Some things from Vx are really cheap suprisingly.

I also bought one of fleabay which I would not do again, as I had nothing but trouble as it broke down within 2-3 weeks of fitting it, and I did make sure that it was away from the exhaust manifold too.

 The decision is yours  ;)

its the connector, think there is a plastic one or metal one iic, not sure though.

Make sure you keep the replacements cable tied away from hot exhausts!

Elec connector either square or "oval" - for a 1998 "oval" plug more likely

-
It i oval, as was the connector on my 1996 car.
Thank you for the advice chaps :y
-
aye there is a square connector & an oval my mini 98 F/L had the oval connector

be careful though as EPC thought my car had a square connector
