as always, newer/least miles the better. So would suggest facelift if you like that shape. I wonder if you will get a facelift elite for that money though, i havent looked for a while so i am out of touch. Maybe a cdx would give a better car in that price bracket? Then again you might be lucky. When i was looking it was a case of having a look at what i fancied and picking holes in it once i got there. Then bearing in mine that face lift elites are hard to come buy. Or where, times have changed in the 7 months since i got mine. Hth.

If you look on ebay you can get a bargain, but it's a risk.
I've got a manual pre-facelift mv6 estate, hard to come by.
I love the space that i have with the tourer.
But it depends on how much room you need?
For that sort of money you should get a decent omega quite easily, just remember to haggle as it's a buyers market.
Also, beware of the new facelift, as i think that they are in the "new" tax bracket, i think it's for models newer than 51 plate.
Hope this hepls

its from '51 onwards but if registered before '06 then they go into k bracket so all omegas i think are only ink bracket if 51 plate or later (240 pounds i think) but it keeps changing!
i would recommend atleast CD spec, cdx and elite are a similar level of spec but you really do get all the toys on elite whereas you just get quite a few toys on the cdx!
facelifts arnt too bad on price at the moment from what i'v seen and like stated above you can get a bargain on ebay but you have to look for everything and make the most of whats not perfect.. eg some condition, wear and tear, milage service history
try and haggle, it's them trying to sell the car and your just trying to pick the right one to spend your money on.

Autotrader gives pretty good guide to average prices for age ...
at present there are :
31 Elites ( £494 - 4,995 )
90 CDX ( £489 - £4,499)
Note a search on CD spec wil find all the cars that have a CD player fitted !!!!! :)
so a good place to get some ideas from ..

thats superb thankyou everyone..i do prefer the face lift.. but dont think im going to get an elite for the money so a nice cdx in saloon or estate with about 100000 on the clock sounds about right..plus i like the silver so if anyone hears of one that fits the bill drop me a msg and we might have a deal....thanks again and wish me luck ;)

its '01 Y reg, not 51, anything reg'd after 01/03/2001 :y
its really not that much more than the older ones now tho since the tax revisions so dont be put off by the newer 3.0 and 3.2s :D

Got my facelift CDX saloon for £700. And I've seen them go for £500 on ebay. Even if you have to spend a little bit of brass on it when you get it i very muh doubt you'll have to spend more than £500 on it, which will leave you with a spare wad of cash to buy toys with!
