Hi, not sure what its meant to do in terms of dipping ?
silly question possibly but I have seen people mention it actually moves down when selecting reverse, mine does bugger all apart from making things look a bit strange on the motorway after dark and rattle a lot!.
breaked or not breaked, that is the question?

There is a small light sensor in the corner which detects light from the car behind and auto-dips it to stop glare.
It can look quite strange at night as the image you see is almost a reflection of a reflection if you know what i mean :-X
Not sure about it moving in reverse :-?

also it adjusts with the memory settings on the elite drivers seat ;)

If your mirror is fully dimmed, selecting reverse will fully UN-dim it. ;D
It's tied up with the memory setting on your driver's seat so that it will move to what ever memories are selected withthe 1 2 or 3. The sensor at the front of the mirror looks to see how light it is outside, the one on the top right hand corner of the mirror looks at any car behind and will darken your mirror as appropiate. I'm not that impressed with it and have a bit of tape on the forward sensor to kid it into thinking it's always dark so it's fully dimmed.

when autodipping, the mirror doesn't move, it 'tints' electronically to prevent dazzle. It untints in reverse, if courtesy light is on
