Title: steering box adjusting

hi all has anybody ever adjusted the play out of a omega v6 steering box?i have been told this is possible but can find no info on how to do it.thanks

as far as i recall you slacken the locknut but keep the through bolt in the same position, then adjust bolt a 1/4 turn [clockwise]at a time [i think thats right] testing each time with engine running, if you go too far it will go very heavy with little or no power assistance,its a long time since ive done one so if ive got it slightly wrong im sure somebody will correct me! ;)

just to add, check all your balljoints/rod ends first to make sure they aint giving you the play ;)

they are the same design as the old ford anglias MARKEY & done loads of them years ago,,,,,crikey im feeling old ;D

thought there was a guide but i cant see one, i am fairly sure i have seen Mr dtm talk about turning the s wheel 90 degrees and checking/ tightening in that position... or summat.???

i wouldn't try it until he or someone posts the correct procedure tbh
