Title: Engine misses when accelerating
Post by: John_Clayton on 06 January 2009, 18:27:45
My 2.5 V6 has started missing during acceleration. It results in a sort of hesitation which is very unpleasant. Once up to speed, however, it's all fine. The plugs are fairly new and I can't detect any vacuum leaks in the throttle body, inlet manifold or associated hoses. The only other possibility the Haynes manual lists is an Engine Management System fault. Any suggestions would be most welcome before I pay to have it professionally diagnosed.

it could be your dispack on the way out (it misses under load) but i'd check your plug wells for oil!

start with the easier option, - plugs and leads, had similar problem, new leads sorted it :y

at the same time check plug wells for oil, if so then you need new cam cover gaskets

Brittle leads are the normal culprit.....also clean the plug insulators to.
