Ive always used mintex pads and in later years ive been buying their brake in a box kits with the disc and pads and ive never had any problems with them.
I have read on here that buying genuine vaux brake parts is the best way to go as everything is is crap
is this actually the case?

I bought a mintex brake kit for a Silver Elite I had before I had my trade card and I thought they were good, It wasn't until I replaced the discs and pads on my blue estate with genuine Vauxhall discs and pads that you could tell the difference. But saying that, it could have been that the blue elites brakes were just better than the silver ones but since then I have always bought genuine.

Not all are cr*p but yes, VX is the preferred route. Front pads and discs under £100 with trade card :y

Remember, most performance brake manufacturers also make budget parts. Its the budget parts that are usually poor.
I've tried some budget brakes on the MV6, and they were utter crap. And it cost me more in the long run, as I warpped the budget discs 3 times in the 18months they were on (1st set skimmed under warranty, 2nd time replaced under warranty, then I binned them and put Vx ones on).
Now before people say "I've used ACME cheapo brakes for years and they are great" I will have to concede that I may be a little demanding of the braking system on my cars.

I am very hard on my brakes and always have had good results with mintex components never warped a set or had brake fade
thanks for the input
i think i will go withthe mintex ones and see how it goes

Genuine Vx era undoubtedly the best option, and are keenly priced.
However, I've had excellent experience with EBC too!

I've got Pagid on mine and they happily take any abuse that you throw at them, once up to temperature.

I've put genuine Trade Club on the front and pattern stuff on the rear that was mostly Mintex. I think the pattern stuff on the back is actually better. I find the TC pads a bit "grabby".
(Ducks for cover......)

vauxhall brakes are manufactured by lucas so by buying lucas parts from a auto factor will save money and still be fitting genuine but i find mintex are usually the best :y :y :y :y :y

Ahhh, that age old story...
Don't for one second think that the parts supplied by an OEM directly are the same specification as those it supplies to GM. In fact, its likely they won't be, as GM will own the rights.
Same with aftermarket makes, Mintex included. They make performance stuff, and they make shite. The budget shite obviously isn't the same as the performance stuff.
