Had the same problem on my 02 Omega 2,5DTI estate, changed all the bits in the steering, but the problem was still there. The front tires was all gone in one year, and the car was all over the road. The roads here in Norway is garbage.
Then i decided to change the orginal 235/45-17 tires into some 225/45-17. And WOW what a difference. Now the car is normal to drive, the only problem now is that the 6cyl BMW diesel engine is very heavy, making the car to feel heavy in the front.
