Picking up my first omega tomorrow night (99 Estate)
ABS & TC lights on & speedo does not work. Will check and clean all ABS sensors, if that does not do the trick ABS ECU problem ?
Who in the Edinburgh area could offer advice (Tech2??)
-
ABS ecu is the likely cause, they can be refurbed for just over a 100 quid.
-
Will more than likely if not a broken sensor be the ECU mate. There is a how to on the maintainence section :y

e.g.

Sensor failure is VERY rare on the Omega

Give "BBA Reman" a ring on 01634 687222 .. they'll give you a price ... and they do an excellent job :y :y :y :y

There good but, a little over priced in my book.

£130 and a 5 day turn around, including courier return and 3 year warranty ... :)
Ok that was 15 months ago but compare to £700m from the stealers I was well happy !!!

No, they refrub your unit so no re-config required!

If you have your existing ECU repaired .. it just goes straight back on no problem.
A replacement .... 2nd hand/scrappy ..... must come from the same model/engine/model year variant ... (same part number essential) .. if it doesn't (Vx spare) it needs a tech 2 to set it up I believe

even then, if its not right part, may not be any good.

If you go second hand route you need same part nş (sensibly placed underneath ecu!!), and preferably off same year and model spec. as yours- expect to pay £40-£45. Went this route on Estate - worked ok for me, didn't need Tech2.
