hiya,, considering buying the 2.2 dti omega,, already have a 3L elite but the petriol is killing me and dont want to pay out for a LPG conversion on a 1997 car would rather buy something newer,,
seen a couple of dti`s 2002 models,, what should i be looking for as far as faults??
any advice on this would be most welcome.

Four and a half years of ownership of a dti and so far it has only been the usual Omega faults of wishbone bushes, shocks and the like.
The crank sensor and drive belts have been replaced due to wear and tear, 54,000 miles on the clock now, but apart from that nothing much else to worry about.
As discussed before on other threads there always seems to be an oil stain across the front of the engine at the head to block join but does not get any worse it is just a stain that keeps appearing.
As far as I know all dtis were manual and traction control was not an option but I was fortunate that an LSD was fitted as a factory option.
All in all nothing realy to report but as stated mine is fairly low mileage.

Damn!
Can this be confirmed please?
I'm considering what to do when the Traktor eventually expires!

No listing for auto in owners manual I'm afraid.

Confirmed.
The 2.2DTi never came in auto form.... not in the UK Omega anyway
