Title: heated screen
Post by: chrisl_1960 on 16 January 2009, 22:01:54
was it just the Elite's that have a heated front screen? after too many mornings scraping ice, is it possible to upgrade a CD? is the relevant wiring there?

any ideas anyone

I think the button you've seen is the one that directs warm air to the front screen on the facelift

I'm really confused now, just to make sure I wasn't seeing things, I've just done a search on autotrader and it's returned 20 Omega's advertised nationally with heated screens, has anyone out there got one with this added luxury?

EP & Dazzler, this is not because I dont believe you, I just want to make sure I'm not going mad, I spent months looking for my Mig, and was sure I'd seen them advertised with HFS.

No Omega had heated front screen, either as std or as an option.

Fords are the ones with heated front screens. Bloody awful things imho, the wires in it cuase an odd glare with oncoming traffic

that seems like the answer, it's just that the way its advertised, I took it to be electrically heated, similar to Fords

now it means I have to put a bit more effort in getting mine fixed, warm air everywhere except for the drivers side vents and screen

People do confuse the switches and believe that the cars have heated front screens. I messeaged an eBay seller about his/her description that included a heated screen to say that no Omegae had one, but, he/she was adamant this his/her car did have one.  :-/  :-/  :-/

possibly andy your comment was mis-interpreted
maybe you wording it as... "none of the omegas have heater element front windscreens only demisters as on other cars" would have worked better :y

from my point of view, these are traders giving the wrong impression, I honestly expected an electrically heated I was reading adverts, never looking in the cars themselves.

just shows, you cant believe all that you read  ;D ;D ;D

You need to look at the cars in the flesh/metal before you believe owt the dealers tell you. I looked at various cars for SWMBO that were advertised as having ABS. Most didn't when i got there. They blamed the Autotrader. >:(

no you dont need to do that andy,
i have no idea what you said to them or your wording... i think at the end of the day they dont want somebody messaging them and telling them they've advertised it incorrectly because who must some random person be?

their loss when somebody buys it and gives it them back because they've miss sold it them

strange, though, I'd always advise someone to take their time, check a car over and make sure everything is as it should be, I was so excited when I found my Mig, I looked at it in the dark, (black car) took it for a 5 minute test drive and bought it there and then

Drunken rant removed :-[
Every time i've been in a car with a heated front screen i can't help but focus on the wires - don't fancy driving a car with one
