Post by: gstylebaby on 16 January 2009, 01:11:52
Hi all i want to change my steering wheel but the airbag that is on my original wheel will not fit my new one.  My question is can i just get hold of one off an omega that will fit or do i need the squib as well and can any one tell me the part numbers of the ones that fit the oak and carbon effect wheels please.
Thanks any help at all would be great. :y

The correct airbag should just plug into the existing squib setup.

What wheel did you have and what one are you getting???

I changed my mini facelift 'leather' one to a 'carbon leather' one form a Vectra B and the air bag swapped straight over as the wheels are the same.

Ofcourse if you are keeping or getting steering wheel controls then you need the air bag cover to suit.

I have one of the first type wheels (1995 so before facelift) and i'm doing the same as you mate swaping it for a carbon one off a vec b.

Looks like i will be getting one off a facelift then.  Any chance i can be cheeky and ask you to post a piccy if you have the time mate because now i know you have swapped yours over i will have a look out but want to make sure i defo get the right one.
