Title: Check Oil Level
Post by: Omegadoha, Desert Member on 13 January 2009, 16:40:00
Recently had the car serviced, changed the oil and cleaned the breather box, changed the cam cover gaskets, the oil level covers all the teeth on the dipstick - but it still displays CHECK OIL LEVEL on the infotainment display. Is there a oil level sensor to be changed now?

Thanks.

Is it up to the top of the dipstick (flat bit) rather than just the top tooth?
That message comes on in my experience if the level falls to close to half way down.   Maybe you have a dodgy sensor.

Yeah, it more or less goes over the top tooth, but not right up to the brim.

There is a sensor on the sump flange that can bring this message up. It is fairly easy to change but not too important unless the message is on all the time. The sensor is held in to the flange by a large c clip. Remove the clip and unplug the cable and remove from the rubber seal.

Would anyone have the part number or correct name for this oil level sensor please?
