Post by: ScottieMV6 on 18 January 2009, 12:47:42
Got some new spark plugs from Vx. Do I need to gap them before putting them in?

some ppl say no, but I always gap them using my high tech guage (aka hacksaw blade) Ive never had any problems and my plugs usually outlast the recomended service time.

im sure someone else might have another opinion tho..  ;)

sure as long as you get the correct plugs there is no need to alter the gaps  :y

You can't gap these types of plug, 2 or 4 electrode.

Got them thanks Pete. Fully intended to do them today but realised I don't have the correct size spark plug socket so didn't see the point in putting them back on until I had changed the spark plugs.
