Title: 3.0 MV6 Water Leak Update
Post by: star_whites on 18 January 2009, 18:00:58
Right, had all stripped down yesterday and posted pics. The general view was that it was leaking from the heater bridge. Therefore I removed the bridge this morning and on doing my sherlock holmes impresion was able to diagnose that the water was leaking from the left hand bolt for the bridge and running down onto the oil cooler then down the back of the engine.

Cleaned up the bridge and mating surfaces with wire brush and a piece of wet & dry paper. Then got the new bridge washers (gen vx) added a little of sealer and refitted and tightned. Rebuilt engine and fired up to have it running like a pig (helps when you reconnect all the multiplugs). Reconnected plug and taken for a run and all appears to be ok.

It has used a little water but I think this was due to the water level settling and air coming out of the system.

Then went and did a little bit of rallying with ngrainey to get his 3.0 back to his garage. What fun that was  :D ;D

Atleast mine wasnt the one behind in the mud spray lol

My rear arches were full of crud, Ive had to put some gloves on and scrape loads out  :D would have been worse if it was a front wheel drive though  ;D
