Hi Everyone
Can anyone shed any light on my vauxhall.
Starts fine, runs fine, purrs like a kitten then 10 minutes down the road, stops at low revs and refuses to start until the engine cools down after 30 minutes then the whole process reoeats itself.
Any Idea's ?

crank sensor, paperclip or pedal trick dependant on vehicle, then post codes. hth

Hi mate, it would help if you gave everyone a few more details like which engine you've got in your mig.
If you update your profile it will stop people having to ask every time need advice.
As to your problem the first step would be to see if there are any stored fault codes, proceedures for doing this vary between engine types so as I said before post some more details and I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Was thinking that way myself but the op needs to confirm before he spends £50 on a new one IMO.

Just ask if your not sure of anything, dont go to vauxhall service dept. they will shaft you most likely.
Only ever go in the parts door, for a crank sensor i would guess, but follow the link to confirm. Hth

I would agree with the crank sensor. Mine had the same symptom and it was the sensor. Only thing was the AA code reader didnt show any codes while the car was working, maybe there reader? His method of testing was to spray a freeze spray on the sensor (bit tricky to get at tho) as soon as the car cut out and wouldnt restart. Car re-started straight away then. Would seem when they are on the way out they fail when hot.
If you need the car to have 'broken down' to read the code with the paper clip, make sure you dont drive it to find out as you dont want to get stuck in the hills.
I am sure someone will explain better how the fault log works as to when it will show codes etc.

as above. you say your 'vauxhall' had problems. we need to know what engine is fitted!
my money is on crank sensor too. do a paperclip test. bet a code 19 comes out

I dont think I can do a paperclip test or pedal test on mine, but my mate popped round with his reader and yes, Crank Sensor and Mass Air Intake thingy which may be throwing up due to the crank sensor. Either way, 30 quid for new crank sensor and fitting it tomorrow
Thanks Guys (Again)
