Post by: gavbriggs on 21 January 2009, 23:41:01
today they came on after the little squeak i have yet to investigate got a bit louder and the quieter any ideas. the noise sounds like its rotational and could be the brake pads.

the lights have gone off now after engine restart but i would like to get to the bottom of it just incase!

Hi, if the speedo stopped also it will be abs/tc ecu.
If it was just the abs/tc lights it wont be that.
I had same fault, ie abs/tc lights coming on at night. Reset fine after a restart, finally found it to be some corrosion on the rear light cluster connection and the combination of lights, brake light and indicator was causing it. Cleaned the contacts and all has been fine now for 3 yrs.
Hope this helps
Al

Could be beginnings of abs ecu failure.  Watch for no speedo, lack of power steering, no cruise contol.  For your sake hope it isn't.

This sounds like something that happened to me recently. It gradually gets worse then the lights end up on permanently. See thread
