I've tried resetting my climate control with no effect :(. Managed to get it working in as much as when i press the temp +/- buttons on the D/S it also now operates the P/S but can't get any heat out of it :(
It was working fine until i reset it after refitting battery(wish I'd left well alone now >:(), disconnected battery again and tried resetting, could here all the servos/motors going but when it came back on again it still only blows cold :-?.
Any ideas please as it's a pain driving in this weather :(.
Thanks,
Pete :y.

weird one Pete, what t f would reverse the reset/happen to fail at the same time? I guess check the vac system, hbv to bulk head and all that... arm come off a flap motor...failing that, tech 2 session?
-
Came across similar problem in my last elite. Arm had come off flap motor as chrisgixer says is a possibility. Try not to cock up like I did though totally reconnected wrong and had to set controls to footwell to heat windscreen and set to demist to warm my tootsies. lol :)

Thanks guys for the suggestions :).
Were would i look for the flap that may have come adrift :question.
Pete :y.
PS. I don't know if this means anything but when i turn the ignition off i get -- in both temp. windows :question.
-
well, no personal experience of this but afaik, the flaps sit within the air ducts and direct the air according to settings, they are, from what i have read, vac operated. So would suggest checking the vac system is all connected up ok with no leaks in the engine bay. Start at the brake servo and go from there, paying special attention to vac pipe on hbv and two to bulk head. Have seen Mr DTM post, no vac to bulk head no heat in car iirc, so it then follows if vacume is ok, that the arm/linkage that is operated by vacume is er...not operating the flap..? Lets hope its just a pipe come off.

Certainly does, means a climate controle fault. For instance no gas in air con system or something else in your case probably. Should be able to read the code with tech2 or other code reader.
-
Thanks a lot for that Chris, will have to get it looked at :(.
I don't think there is anybody in the Middlesex area with a Tech 2 unless someone can tell me differently :question.
Will a paper clip test work :question.
Cheers,
Pete :y.

Don`t think so Pete. TechII I believe :(

Thanks Rob :(.

Would someone with a Tech 2 be coming anywhere near the Middlesex area anytime in the near future ::).

paperclip and pedal trick only read engine ecu, either tech 2 or other code reader is required for other systems on the car, snap on generic reader or similar is usually a favourite of independent garages, may be one near you, but these being generic, are not guarantead to read all systems as they are not gm designed.Or something like that anyway.
Best option for you would be Kevin Wood in alton, not exactly round the corner though, vx def last resort.
unless some one near you has a cheapo tech 2, or better suggestion?
-
I took a trip down to see Kevin as I had a similar problem before christmas, when turning off ignition got -- -- appearing in the climate dials.Strange thing was it cleared its self about a week ago,and despite Kevin,s best efforts with the box of tricks it didn,t register any fault nor had any been stored,so imagine they clear after a set number of starts,so tech 11 might not resolve that one for you.
-
Thanks for your replies, hopefully it will clear itself :).

Just a thought Pete. When engine`s up to temp. have you felt the pipes in the footwell going to the matrix just to confirm that you`ve got circulation :question Might be worth a go
-
also not unhurd of for the hbv to "stick"....
-
i would go for a good flush of heater matrix pete first :y
