Hiya all,
OK so I changed my crank sensor and now the cam sensor. Still the same, wont start, turns over but wont fire. Just discovered ive got no spark....Anyone know how to bypass or disable the imobiliser on a p reg Omega....Anyone?? :o

Does the EML light flash constantly :question
-
sometimes its on, other times not? Any help?
-
If the immobiliser is at fault the EML will flash constantly

Ahh thanks for that. Can I give you my symtoms.....Car running fine, parked up at mine. Next day would not start. Turn on the ignition and I get 5000revs showing on the rev counter. crank it , wont start. Rest the key and i get a chattering pink relay under the bonnet.
I have discovered that if I disconnect the connections on top of the fuel tank, i do not get the funny readings on the rev counter or the chattering relay. Checked today and I have no spark. Assuming this is an imobiliser prob??? :( :(

I think .. that the pink relay is the fuel pump .. without a fuel pump you get no fuel presure .. with no fuel pressure you get no spark ... as I understand the way the ECU thinks ....
I'm probably wrong but ...... :-/ :-/ :-/

Not certain .. wait for an expert .. but might even just be the fuel pump relay not holding in ... you say its chattering ..... ??
-
I know that the two pink relays are 1. fuel pump...2.fuel injectors.
But do you think my prob is the fuel pump??
-
yes, when i release the key after another unsucsesfull atempt at starting. the relay chatters. untill i turn the key off.
-
Have you tried a substitute relay :question

Not sure as I'm no expert .. but I'm fairly certain that with no fuel pressure the ECU will not give a spark (or allow the injectors to open)
-
I have swapped relays, the fuel injector and the fuel pump relay are identical. Same thing. Im gonna go for the fuel pump then I think.

HIyas,
I have been advised that it is my fuel pump at fault. I am trying to remove the old one now.
I hour later....Ok got the pump out wired it back up and it pumps away when i crank the engine. I assume thats a good thing because it means its working.
But im still stuck with the same problem(wont start).
If i disconnect the elec connector from the top of the fuel pump, i dont get the strange reding from my rev counter..
Does this mean I have a short on fuel pump elec connections??
Anyone?? Duncan :( :(
