Next silly Q...whats the drop link, where is it...
Is it the other end of the steering rod to the steering idler? Or the bit that connects to? Or something else completely?? :y

Not changed one that I'm aware of so dunno where it is, just know its probably easy to change and Omegas are prone to failing on them...
Thanks Hotel :) Although the red writing is hard to see lol But will store that pic away for future use :)

i know how you feel LK!
right chris.... if you look at the strut then on the inside of the strut near the top there's a link what goes down to the antiroll bar (goes across the front of the car) that is the drop link

I think you may mean anti-rollbar drop links?
They are on the ends of the rollbar and join it to the chassis each end has the same bearing that’s fitted to track rods.
Look like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-FRONT-STABALISER-ANTI-ROLL-BAR-LINK-x1_W0QQitemZ270333147817QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090121?IMSfp=TL090121126003r33779

Quite a few helpfull bits and bobs in the maintenance guides, FAQ and Tech Info sections..... :y

Cheers :) I'm not a mechanic so no need to roll eyes lol ::)
I can strip a v6 engine out in 3-4 hours...doesnt mean I have ever changed a drop link or know where or what one is lol And now I do :)
Should have read the maintenance guide first tho...my bad! :)

dont you have a haynes manual at all chris?
-
No mate, I sold it as this sites more useful for info...
Also I ask because I have a rattle from passengers side when going over bumps...most likely drop link or steering idler as no loss of steering :y
-
it depends if it's a clunk or a rattle really chris, clunk is a drop link most likely (have two new ones lol) and rattle could be exhaust or some heat shielding
-
Be yer drop link Chris - do you know how to change it? ;)
-
I'll just follow the guide lol Can practice when I'm removing the drop link from the car I'll be taking it off lol :y
