Have to replace mine is there a best and safe way to do this. Having a look there does not seem to be a lot of room. Is there a how to on this one.

head light out or remove battery and air box?
Thinking head light out myself...

When I have done them, battery and airbox out, then just 3 torx screws to remove, funny connector to undo, refit and job done :y

Yeh, that's how I did mine. Didn't fancy taking the headlamps out incase I screwed up any of the alignment and the ballast packs get caught on the washer jets when you try and extract the units.
Airbox just lifts out and the Battery only needs the terminals (which you need to disconnect the +ve one off anyway regardless) disconnecting and the clamp removing to lift out.

good point, got to dis connect the battery anyway. Was thinking get the light on a bench with less chance of dropping the bulb or getting crap/finger prints on the glass. Had some practice getting the lights out recently with a made in taiwan piece of crap fitted by my insurer. There is a semi circular cut out in the top cross member to get the top edge out first so the ballast does not catch.
But on the other hand, could drop the light just as easy and forget to disconnect the battery and kill meself from the high voltage. ;D ;D ;D
