Just thinking after my drive that i remember hear somewhere that the Elite have heated jet washer for the screen and lights is that right :question.
And if so are they on heat all the time or do you have to have the rear screen heater on.
Thanks

You'll have heated screen washers, look in the scuttle where the washer jets are & on the nearside bonnet hinge there's a 2 pin plg for them. Not sure when they're live though. :-/
-
they are attached to the washer nozzle in the bonnet, and come on with the heated screen afaik.dont know about headlight washers. :y
-
Manual doesn't seem to say, I would reckon they either come on with the heated rear window or automatically by the outside temp sensor.

Face lifts are in the scuttle! ;) ;) :y

heated washer jets come on with the rear window. altho due to them getting soaked in water everytime you use them the wiring corrodes and breaks off, so they may or may not work. best bet is to pop them out and have a look. if the wires are broken, you can clean up the contacts and resolder them. done a few now.

Thanks everyone will have a check . When i gave them a try i did not have the rear heater for the window on. Will try with it on....sure that i wll get a chance on Monday the way that things are looking like outside -3. :o :o

IIRC, my heated washers are live all the time. They come on with position II of the ignition switch.

Must confess I thought they came live with the ignition :-/ :-/ :-/

Must confess I thought they came live with the ignition Undecided Undecided Undecided
that would be a silly idea as it could be a cracking day outside 20 degrees and sunshine and your washers would be cooking away for no reason.. surely vaux werent that daft. :D

Right i see. Mine seem to work ok after clearing the holes with a pin :y. Does this system also heat the head light washers or just the screen ones.
Thanks

I bet they are only about 1 watt each so use bugger all power.

Slightly off topic, but this thread led me to find info about our cousins over the pond
We had a Caddy on hols last September, and were soooo impressed with the driver information center message, 'Heated Wash Wipes Pending, Heating Fluid'.
It's being discontinued though, probably because of this small recall....
2008 CADILLAC DTS
Manufactured between: 03/30/2007 and 11/30/2007
Defect: gm is recalling 857,735 my 2006-2008 buick lucerne; cadillac dts; hummer h2; my 2007-2008 cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext; chevrolet avalanche, silverado, suburban, tahoe; gmc acadia, sierra, yukon, yukon xl, saturn outlook; and my 2008 buick enclave vehicles equipped with a heated wiper washer fluid system. a short circuit on the printed circuit board for the washer fluid heater may overheat the control-circuit ground wire.
Consequence: this may cause other electrical features to malfunction, create an odor, or cause smoke increasing the risk of a fire.
Action: dealers will install a wire harness with an in-line fuse free of charge. the recall began on september 12, 2008.

My Senator wouldn't let me switch off the rear screen/washer jets/door mirrors combination. I would have to stop the engine and re-start if I wanted to preserve the battery.
Sorry, I hated the Omega when it first came out but it is an improvement in a number of respects.

with ref to the jets blocking up, always use screen wash and of a higher concentration at this time of year, it has antifreeze properties and stops the white gunk growing in the bottle that clogs the filter and jets.
