One key has stopped working (no light) can I just buy a new battery and fit, or does something else want doing ?? -- second key works fine. Sorry about this, as I am sure I have seen a post about it but cannot find it. The car is an Omega 2.2 auto V reg. Thank you for your answer as I suppose this has been asked and solved many times.

CR2032 is a standard battery size, ebay or an electronics shop will have them.

or if you are really stuck you can always go to the pound shop as they do various gizmos with the battery showing in the blister packing, just keep the batteries & chuck the crappy gizmo ;D

When I was working I was hired a car, strangely enough the battery in the fob was identical to mine. ;) ;)

Help. Got a battery from Boots this morning. Just fitted it after struggling to open the key body. No Joy ??? No light??
The Key is a two Button type, is there something else I need to do ??
I thought it would be a simple swap job.
-
when you say no light are you refering to the led? have you put the battery in the correct way up?, i know it sounds a silly question but when i done mine the battery dropped out so wasnt sure which way up it went ;)
-
Thank you Tim, An easy thing to do. I am sure it is right, but I have to check it out. A simple job that can go wrong ?? Yes, it is the light on the key that shows it is working. I know the Battery is correct and thought it would be a simple swap. Will let you know the result.

you need to re-programme the key.
Put it in the ignition and turn ignition on.
press one of the fob buttons for a few seconds.
the doors should lock and unlock
The key is then programmed. :y

Hi All, The key is working ok now. The end fault was, I had to pack the battery out to make Contact and now the light comes on.
Such a simple fault, but easily remeided. Hurray! This may well help othere's. When fitting another Battery, make sure the light works before closing the key, by holding the battery in.

Hi Albitz, Thank You. Have just tried the key which was not very positive and using your advice, it now works well. This must happen a lot, to othere's when the battery gives up. Hope this helps for antone in the future. Thanks again.
