hi guys, i have a 2.2cdx 2001 i have noticed recently that when i start up first thing in the morning and drive off the car stays in ist gear for quite some time before it will change up. any ideas what would cause this.
thanks max

This is standard on the V6.. not sure about the 2.2 ..
The higher revs for a short time is supposed to heat the cats up faster to reduce emmissions .... how well it works I have no idea ... you can "trick" the system by pulling away in "snow" mode if you really want to ...

Mine does this too ..... normal i belive to heat up cat quicker :y
