Title: engine will not start

Hi there i'v just recharged my battery and refitted it and when i try to start it there's no egnition and the alarm kicks off. Please help.

What engine and year? Is it factory alarm, or aftermarket?

1999 v reg , factory fitted 2.5 Elite petrol
