Hello :)
I have just purchased my first Omega and have a few issues. I was wondering if anyone could help.
The problem is, the car is pulling quite strongly to the left and there is also a noise coming from the passenger side front.
I'm not really sure whether this is the bearing on it's way out or something else. I'm also feeling like a sort of 'scraping' at the steering wheel.
When looking at the front wheel (not very clear on pic) it looks as if the camber is way out.

I also just noticed that (especially the passenger side) the front wheels wear unevenly, more wear on the inside.

definately check the bearings first, also depending on what wheels & tyres combo you have they can rub on the strut itself if its that bad, could explain the noise, have a look at the tyre inner wall for scuffs :y

I wonder what causes the camber to be off though.. :-/.could it be the wishbone bushes?

Only guessing here as can't be sure but I think he's got standard tyres on 16" Elite rims so that should all be ok...
Firstly check wishbones and drop links... I reckon you'll find them knackered!
Then get yourself to Wheels In Motion in Chesham for a full geometry setup :y :y :y

Probably... Very common failure on the Omega as there's a lot of weight on a poor design of suspension ::) ::)

Get a good lever bar or heavy screwdriver in around those bushes... I bet there's loads of play ::) ::) ::)

Is it only the front brake pads that have a sensor or also the rears?

just the fronts have sensors. Buy some new ones when you get the pads(from vx) they are brittle and almost impossible to remove with out breaking first time you do it, and from memory, dont attach the sensors until you are sure the pads are assembled with sensor wire routed correctly. Seem to remember haveing to do it over again with the correct routing or something like that.
Your handeling issues are to be expected with a 12 year old car, in the last 18 months a mate and i have done wishbones and bushes on my 03 omega,my old 99 omega, my father in laws y2k c70, my mates 02 e39 and his mates e39. Rubber bushes do not last for ever. Those who have had no issues imho probably have just not noticed the deterioration.
So anyway, suggest you ring Tony at Wim, 07948427383 and have a chat. Hes a good lad, knows his onions, and will take time to explane and probably recommend the nearest company near you if possible.
For info, basic procedure is, check for broken springs, worn steering idler, buggerd wishbone bushes(yours WILL need doing) and also rear donut bushes in the rear trailing arms.(triangular plate under rear doors) change any shocks that you think need doing, once all faults are rectified THEN take the car for a full geometry set up. Any subsequent change of parts can alter the set up. So, find the faults, rectify, then set up, preferably with new tires at the same company. Sounds like a lot but its worth doing, it will transform the car. :-)

Has anyone seen a write up on changing the cam belt? I've looked but could't find it.
As there is no record in the history when the belt was changed, I figure I better do it myself.
Just wanting to know if there are any fiddly bits to take into account :)

well....
After some fiddling I have found that both sides the wishbone bushes are knackered. Also the 2 front tyres are worn excessively on the inside (the metal is coming through )
The passenger side wheel bearing has excessive play as well and last but not least...there are 2 different types of profile tyres in the front: passenger side is 205/65 R15 and the other side is 205/55 R15 :o

I was just going over the FAQ section and there was something about the springs getting weak over time and causing too much neg camber.
Has anyone here had that happening to their car?
