Title: Nearside rear squeaking
Post by: V6 Gix on 10 February 2009, 16:01:13
Went over quite a large pothole which made a very nice THUMP.

Now the nearside rear is squeaking really badly. Getting in and out of the car...squeak....getting in....squeak.

A liberal coating of WD40 has helped, but has that pothole damaged something?

The MOT is due soon, and I'm dreading it. :(

If it has broken then about £40 each and should be changed as a pair.

£40 each?

If that is all that needs doing then I'll be a happy camper.

Cheers Dazzler. :)

Must confess, I've actually paid £105 for a pair of rear springs (suspension parts should be replaced in pairs :y :y) from a local factors as they are good quality instead of the cheapo ebay ones :y :y

But easy enough job to do :y :y

KYB springs are about the best aftermarket ones you can get and are no more than 40 quid each

On another note, is the Mig safe to drive with a broken spring?
