Title: Replacement rear coil springs
Post by: tomoco on 13 February 2009, 16:34:08
One of my rear coil springs has broken, rang VX and they quoted me £230 and thats with trade card. £275 retail. I think thats a bit high..
They also told me that there were 6 different types fitted? Thought there were just saloon/estate with or without self levelling (4 types)
Does anyone know a good supplier at a more reasonable price and are they difficult to fit?. I have some compressors and there is loads of roon once the wheel is off. Is it that simple?. I've done shocks before but never springs

thanks in advance
Mark

I have a 2003 saloon and want to firm it up a bit, maybe even lower it slightly, what's the best route to go for suppliers?

Just fitted Boge springs to mine... £100 the pair but worth it as I know they're a good make :y :y :y

If you drop the diff a little you won't even need compressors for the springs but I must confess I cheated ::) :-[ :-[ Not saying how on open forum though as not an advised method for fitting ::) ::) ::)

Where did you get them, I've done the normal ggogle search etc, but they all seemed to be for pre-facelift models.

Errm...Mine's a mini-facelift ::) ::) But I used a proper little motor factors in the town... Very small company and slightly more expensive than some places but local and incredibly helpful :y :y

Hi, tomoco, funnily enough Ive just had to replace mine, same car as yours. Found a local chap in Leicester called Kams Autos, telephone 07920 130700. He changed my rear springs (dont know what brand) & put a new rocker cover gasket on yesterday for £250. He really knows a lot about Omegas.
