Eh? None of that made sense? Carb? Diesels are all injected?

Fuel filter is large canister on drivers side suspension turret - looks a little like a very large old style oil filter.

I reckon you mean the atmospheric pressure sensor filter, over near PAS reservoir?

i know but there is a pipe ,(similar to a vaccum pipe ) that has a filter attached to it and another small piece of pipe on what i,d deem to be the outlet end . this is not attatched to anything . this pipe  & filter is attatched to the fuel filter housing . i can see its not an add on by how its fastened to the housing but i dont know whats it is for . can you please enlighten me :)

Is this the glass-domed filter assembly in the nearside engine bay, near the power steering reservoir?
If it is, one small-bore pipe goes to atmoshere, (at least mine does!).

I think he's confused here, as it does look like an in-line fuel filter.

Nowhere near the fuel filter then, which is on left.  See my post further up ;)
