Title: just bought a dream
Post by: b16 b3n on 18 February 2009, 21:54:02
hi guys just bought my first omega, 2.5 v6 elite with extensive history and i lobe it.

Just a quick question.

He's given me the original radio and its gone into safe mode, i have the code, just wondering how to get it out or does the old trick stick it in the freezer for a night work?

98 elite should have a CCR800 in it...possibly the CCRT700

Easy enough to do...

aswith most of these units, assuming the wiring hasnt been tampered with, you plug it in, switch on ignition, switch on stereo and wait for the prompt to enter the 4 digit code. thats if the stereo hasnt been locked out previously by the last owner

As said above but remember that you need to press once for 0, so if you first number is say a 3 you need to press button 1 four times and so on with buttons 2-4 with the remaining code number.

I think you get ten goes at it, just done it to my radio CCR600 but that isin a facelift, same principal only difference is I have the manual to look at.

I take it there's no radio manual that came with the car, can anyone help with their manual..........As said best post up in the ICE Omega electrical section, it's a common question asked there. You might even get a answer just looking through the threads.
