hi guys just bought my first omega, 2.5 v6 elite with extensive history and i lobe it.
Just a quick question.
He's given me the original radio and its gone into safe mode, i have the code, just wondering how to get it out or does the old trick stick it in the freezer for a night work?
-
no, freezer myth won't help...
what radio?
-
the original what came with it from the factory, its the elite model and its a 1998
-
need a model no. for the radio, there was a few different ones used at that age.
-
:o :D
-
98 elite should have a CCR800 in it...possibly the CCRT700
Easy enough to do...
-
sorry im thick, its a phillips bose, type ccr 800
-
how do i do it fellas?
-
aswith most of these units, assuming the wiring hasnt been tampered with, you plug it in, switch on ignition, switch on stereo and wait for the prompt to enter the 4 digit code. thats if the stereo hasnt been locked out previously by the last owner
-
ign on, radio off.
press and hold AS, turn on radio, release AS after bleep
enter code using 1234 buttons, press and hold AS to submit
-
ah ha, thankyou will have a play in daylight, what if the twonk before has entred too many times?
-
You can try speaking to DaveDND on here, he may be able to decode it for a small fee
he can usually be found in the ice/electrical section of this forum

I think the Bose stereo sounds very good and I would only replace it it the original one was duff.

hi guys just had a play, its making the bleep when af is pressed but the display doesnt come up with code.
It has had a non standard cd player in before, im just wondering if ive forget to do somthing, all ive done is slot in and plug in to the iso connector.
If not im just gonna by an aftermarket one.
cheers fella's

As said above but remember that you need to press once for 0, so if you first number is say a 3 you need to press button 1 four times and so on with buttons 2-4 with the remaining code number.
I think you get ten goes at it, just done it to my radio CCR600 but that isin a facelift, same principal only difference is I have the manual to look at.

hi mate will have a go, but the problem ive got is that the info display is not coming up on the screen so i dont have a clue whats going on. somthing is going on because the date goes off when the radio come son

Ok might be set to 10 digit rather than 8 or vice versa...cant remember how to change that though...similar sort of thing pressing something as you turn on the radio till it bleeps iirc
-
I take it there's no radio manual that came with the car, can anyone help with their manual..........As said best post up in the ICE Omega electrical section, it's a common question asked there. You might even get a answer just looking through the threads.
