Title: Omega Elite MPG..??????

Im looking at getting a pre facelift elite 3.0 1998/99 what kind of mpg is the norm, im only asking out of interest as it will be a 2nd car and just planning ahead................. cheers

Mines gives me 16 or 17 round town and get closer to 30 on a run if I'm gentle but normally closer to 24/25 with the cruise on at 80 :y

aye 30-40 on a run, 25-30 on a fast run.

Round town, i try not to think about it. :'(

I must drive like an old man (or maybe because its manual?) as I get about 24-26mpg around town and thats mostly short journeys so lots of stop start...and yes 30+ on the motorway and thats with the ECU light on and a slight misfire code 61 from time to time...although think I may have discovered the cause today so will have to see how it goes now  :y

My 1998 3.0l auto gives 23-26 day to day.  Low 30s over the fornight if I take it away on holiday. Not good around Milton Keynes, especially if I'm a bit playful ::)

I do a combination of motorway and A road / city driving. About 90% of the mileage is on motorways.

If I drive very carefully and I mean no more than 60 on the motorway, gentle pull aways and neutral if in traffic I can get 33 MPG (or more).

Driving normally (higher motorway speeds etc) but not hooning around sees about 27 MPG.

Driving at speed, giving it some, OR driving around Milton Keynes 23MPG or less

Just agreeing with everyone else really...  Maximum of 25 around town, more like about 30 a run...    :)

Usually around town 20/21mpg and 27/28 on the motorway although I have seen 32mpg on a gentle run to Edinburgh with 4 in the car - had the out-laws in s  had to be 'sensible'  :y

I get around 22 round town on my trips to and from work (approx. 7 miles) and pootling about at weekends (normally about 2-3 mile trips) - no idea what a run will give me  :D

what wrong is with me then? last car was 3.0 auto 14.5-15.5 round town, long run 30mpg ish sound very good for v6, now I drive 3.0 manual and is 16.8 sometimes come to 17.8 round  town, not push foot to floor :question

Had a run out today - Halesowen to Ross and back. Averaged 35.6 according to the MID :y

17mpg to a fro across Hereford to work - 30-32 on a run... :-/

crap but worth it when you press the loud pedal :D
