as above, i have just started to notice that my discs are nearly down to the metal.
i have taken a wheel off, and tried to make a start, but cannot get the disc off.
the problem i am having, the small screw that holds the disc in place, any idea what size it is??
it looks like a torx to me, but a t05 is too small, and a t40 too big.
Am i having a blonde moment?
halfords don't sell a t35...

the bolt "should" be a hex, I used good quality allen keys with molegrips attached, You will need to tap them fairly hard to free them off a bit or you will bend the allen keys or round the inside of the bolt.
Apart from the above, you need to use a screwdriver thru the inspection hole, and wind the adjuster back, if the inside lip of the drum part is deep, then it will take some smacking with a large hammer to get them off. this is usually where a handbrake kit comes in handy as no doubt the shoe retaining pins will get fubar'd

This screw should not be very tight so when you put it back, just tighten it slightly - it does really support any weight.

thanks again...
had a quick look, i think it may be a 6,7 or 8mm key...
so i'll get searching on ebay

Get yourself a set of hexagon/torx sockets. Available from any reputable motor factors, Halfrauds etc. Give the screw head a good tap with a hammer before undoing it. The screw merely locates the disc to the hub, and should not be unduly tight anyway.

As above, shouldn't be to tight but often is as others often tighten them up to shear point as it is wheel/brake related. Like stated earlier it does not need to be tight, it only locates the disk not hold it in place, the wheel nuts do that. Mine were solid and I drilled them out in the end, may even put new one ones in one day.
