Post by: gavbriggs on 22 February 2009, 13:28:46
as above, whats the part called that goes on the valve in the air plenum at the back right of the engine. its got vac pipes on and opens up arornd 3.5k revs i believe.

one of the tube bits has broken and been repaired with superglue and i need to bodge this one then get another in the morning!!

You mean the tube that runs across behind the plenum?? The brake servo hose if it is...has 2 little lugs drivers side of the tube and the second one tends to snap off fairly easy

it is the ram thing, not the valve bit but the electic/vac thing. i have managed to fix it using a bit of the ink tube from a biro pen!!! i know its only a bodge but it or something else i have done has cured my misfiring problem so i am happy about that little stroke of luck!!!

cheers guys, if anyone can give me the proper name for it so i dont look like a fool when i order one it would be appreciated!!

The failed part should be easily identifiable on Vx's parts dept screen.

Swap it for the one on the bracket on the radiator (front right) for the air injection as a temporary measure.

my bodge has worked well, it seems to have cured the missfire anyway, but had i known it could be swapped with the one at the frone then it would have saved me the hassle of getting me hands stuck at the back of the engine!!
