Hi all, Hope someone can help!. I have a 2.2 gls and when i put my indicators or hazards on my rear indicator light flash intermittently with the rear tail light, I am quite a novice when it comes to mechanics. Is it a simple fix?
Cheers

Both sides?
-
yes, is it an mot failiure too?
-
Check all the connections in the boot area. Remove bulbs, clean the bases and make sure they`re re-fitted correctly
-
will do, would that affect both sides?
-
most likely would be a fail.
Do you mean the tail lights flash as well as the indicators?
-
check bulbs and check earths
have a look at the filiments in the bulbs as well
-
when the indiactor light flashes off the tail light flashes and when the indicator light flashes back on the tail light goes off.
hope this helps
-
I suspect an earth somewhere common to both sides, but start by checking all the bulbs are ok - note there are two bulbs for the tail lights each side.

yeah you see that on a lot of fords
mainly the earths are bad and the bulb holder has corrosion on it
best thing is to check all connections and bulbs and earths then go from there

Bad earth or a dicky flasher bulb.
-
Once had this when
my stupidity an error in the parts department meant I fitted an offset flasher bulb to a straight-pinned socket. Replaced any bulbs lately?
(Among other things, the headlamp switch operated the wipers and the brake pedal honked the horn... poor chap was a little bemused exactly what I'd done to his little car...)
