Well, its either discs or worn front wishbone bushes.

My previous mig, a '98 2.5, did that... Turned out to be the wishbone bushes I seem to remember...

Yep - either of these are the usual culprits!

Def look at discs and pads. Was the car parked for any long period of time? Sometimes this can cause an `imprint` of the pads on the disc if calipers not returning but that should naturally wear off after a decent length journey with average breaking. Also even a slight warp on the disc could account for a judder - easily spotted with the wheel off spinning the disc. Otherwise as already stated --wishbone bushes, but try the simplest first.... :y

Wish I could get 5k out of a set of discs ::)
(thats unfair - the genuine GM ones have faired much better)

My two pennyworth,Id go for front brake discs, vented discs don`t like a hard stop or panic stop and the driver sitting with his size tens pushing the brake pedal making the pads hugging and keeping the disc nice and hot while the rest of the disc is cooling down, they crack but the problem does`nt appear till a few miles more and you have forgotten, had the same problem with granadas, transits, does`nt seem to happen with non vented discs,if suspension the veh will pull left or right when the brakes are applied,so go fo discs.

Were your replacement discs genuine Vx - if not I'd suspect discs and replace with genuine Vx :y

I have warped discs on my cdx, quite severe judder braking from high speed down to about 35-40mph. must get them changed.
